Usage Statistics
ILP web site usage statistics are being tracked for the purpose of
studying how the Web site is used, and which information is most
useful. This data will be used only in the aggregate for evaluation
purposes. Individual user data, given by you to us will never be made
available to anyone outside the MIT Office of Corporate Relations and
the Industrial Liaison Program.
Events Registration
If a user wishes to register for an event, we request contact
information (such as name and address) and financial information (such
as credit card number and expiration date). This information is used
for billing purposes and to process registrations. If we have trouble
processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch
with the user.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user’s hard drive containing
information about the user, such as an ID for site access. If a ILP
member user rejects the cookie, they will be required to enter username
and password information to access to member-only content. We do not
use cookies to store sensitive information.
Log Files
We use Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to analyze trends, administer
the site, track users' movement on our site, and gather broad
demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not
linked to personally identifiable information.
Sharing
Periodically we may contact you with information about MIT programs,
however we never share individual information.
Links
This web site contains links to other sites. The Industrial Liaison
Program is not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. We
encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read
the privacy statements of each web site that collects personally
identifiable information.
Security
We take every precaution to protect our users’ information. When a user
submits sensitive information via the website, that information is
protected both online and off-line.

Site and Service Updates
We send users site and service announcements via email. Members are
automatically subscribed to these service announcements, which contain
important information about the site or other ILP
services/benefits. Users may opt out of specific types of service
announcements by replying to the deletion e-mail address provided at the bottom of every announcement.
Choice/Opt-out
Users who no longer wish to receive our ILP MIT Technology Insider
newsletter may unsubscribe by replying with “UNSUBSCRIBE” in the
subject line of an e-mail to ilpinsider-editor@ilp.mit.edu.
Additionally, users may opt out of all electronic communication by sending an e-mail request to webmaster@ilp.mit.edu.
Notification of Changes
The Industrial Liaison Program reserves the right to change its privacy
policy. If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those
changes prominently so our users are always aware, and we will notify
users by way of an e-mail.
