Strategies for Balancing Risks and Opportunities in Global Product Delivery
March 11, 2008 - March 12, 2008
Wong Auditorium
Leaders for Manufacturing Program* MIT Forum on Supply Chain Innovation System Design and Management Program*
Although technology continually presents significant opportunities to diversify, expand, and invent new products and services, the risks and potential rewards are greater than ever before. Successful companies are finding that a life-cycle approach which incorporates all aspects of product design, development, manufacture, distribution, service, and end-of-life are essential to success. This "systems" approach is being applied across industries, around the globe. The question is how to apply it within your company in a timely manner to take advantage of opportunities and minimize risks.
This symposium will feature strategies and tactics of senior executives from top companies who are leading their already-thriving organizations to greater levels of performance and prosperity, in both new and existing markets. MIT experts will share research findings and provide insights into how successful companies are minimizing risks and maximizing opportunities by using systems thinking, product design, network modeling, information technology, procurement/inventory strategies, and the flexible supply chain.
*LFM and SDM programs are co-sponsored by MIT Sloan School of Management and School of Engineering. Both LFM and SDM reside within MIT's Engineering Systems Division.
