HomeCentric: Technology-Enabled, Home-Centered Lifestyles
September 25, 2007
Wong Auditorium, Tang Center
HomeCentric. A look at today’s and tomorrow’s technology-enabled, home-centered lifestyles – and the products and services they’ll demand. Will your company be ready to play a role in this new, home-centered world?
The home is increasingly becoming the center of life’s activities. Personalized, distributed technology is empowering the home-based individual in ways that could not be imagined only a few years ago. The home user now has command of an ever expanding array of technologies to design and control their living environment, healthcare, work schedule, on-going education and entertainment. How will these “bottom-up and distributed” lifestyles mesh with our traditional “top-down and centralized” understandings of life’s needs and the products and services that meet them? HomeCentric will present a diverse collection of perspectives, gathering MIT thought leaders to share insights and discuss the implications of this home-centered future.
